Fairfield State Hospital (also known as Fairfield Hills State Hospital or Fairfield Hills) was a psychiatric hospital in Newtown, Connecticut, which operated from 1931 until 1995. At its peak, the hospital housed over 4,000 patients.

Holy Land

Holy Land USA was an 18-acre theme park in Waterbury, Connecticut, inspired by selected passages from the Bible. It consists of a chapel, stations of the cross, and replicas of catacombs and Israelite villages constructed from cinder blocks, bathtubs, and other discards. The park has been closed to the public since 1984.

Unknown Hotel

Upon entering the kitchen, there was a cold gust that brushed past. A massive cooler dominated most of that room. Just past it was a large dining hall with supplies scattered about the room. Following the stairs led to the entrance lobby. What was particularly peculiar was the bowling alley adjacent to it. There was a group of pins still standing.

The fire trucks were on their way and a “mass of smoke was in the lobby – choking me,” she said. Putting a wet towel over her face, she wakened others, including Fred Gasthalter, whose father and grandfather had run the old Borscht Belt-style hotel for years. He was now the owner and awoke to see the place aflame.
